The Ghanaian Nollywood actor popularly known by Nigerians as ‘Ghanaian Aki’, Don Little, has told of how his parents tried to kill him when he was a child because they feared he would grow to be a dwarf and of no value to them.

The 20-year-old diminutive actor said in an interview on the Delay show that his parents noticed he wasn’t getting any bigger or taller so they concluded that they wouldn’t get much value out of him. He said they wanted to kill him by poisoning his food when he was about five years old.

He said his mother was reluctant and feared the outcome of murdering her son. But his father wasn’t bothered. Don says his father has slaughtered numerous domestic animals and sold them so he had no problem with killing his son.

Don Little also narrated how his father battered him and threw him out of the house at the age of 6 because he exposed his father for stealing bags of cement belonging to their benefactor.

When asked about his father, the actor said he has forgiven him but won’t grant his wish of building a relationship with him.

2Face Idibia alongside some other musicians has been commended by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their roles in the upcoming general election.

According to the electoral commission, the upcoming elections will be for the youths who constitute 81 percent of registered voters.

The Commissions chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu said this during an election summit for youths in Abuja on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.

During the summit, popular musicians were awarded for their role in the mobilization of youths to register for their Personal Voters Card which would allow them vote in the coming elections.

Among those honoured at the event was Innocent Idibia (Tuface) and Ambassador Ketil Karlson, Head of European Union to Nigeria and ECOWAS.

According to Funke who stepped into Church for the first time since her sister’s death, the music from the choir was as if it was made for her.

Funke Bucknor shared on Instagram:

“You know how sometimes people say that a sermon or music was just for them when they went to church ?

That happened to me today with a song by our choir ( the sounds of heaven and the psalmist ) at @myjoshuaville
Ever since my sister died I hadn’t been able to go to church . Yes I attended meetings etc but I just couldn’t or didn’t see myself being in a service .
I was angry and hurt and just still couldn’t understand why she had to die or why this happened to my family . I generally don’t like dealing with emotions and I tend to just push them aside or away . I did this when my dad died as I didn’t cry till Tosyn’s death .
With Tosyn the emotions are totally different and I wanted to lash out at God. Infact I’ve had many conversations with Him on why He let it happen . Those answers haven’t come oh but the song about trusting Him in church today really helped and will help towards the healing process .
This is for anyone going through any form of grief ( you lost a friend , sibling , parent or child or relation). It’s ok to be angry
It’s ok to be hurt
It’s ok to be in denial
It’s ok to be upset
It’s ok to feel guilty
It’s ok to feel pain
It’s ok ……………..
But don’t stop trusting in God
But don’t stop talking about your pain
But don’t stop living ……………………..
We will get healing

Betty, what happened to you?? I attended a Service of Songs this January and saw a lady friend.. well, not a friend like that but sha a friend. I hadn’t seen her for years. As I smiled towards her amidst selfies and pecks with other friends, she gasped loud; “Ah! Betty, what happened to you?” For a minute I thought I had a wardrobe malfunction or something worse, like poo all over me!! “What happened to you?” She exclaimed again. Now, there were abt 20 of us right there paying our condolences to our bereaved friend after the service.
As I wondered what she meant, like how, where, what or when? She exclaimed “Ah, you have gone much darker, are u ok? U used to be lighter!” She looked really pained!
I have? Was the only Come Back I could find at that moment, although I had some pretty petty acidic stuff I could have hauled back at her right there! But I don’t do dirt. I am still learning. Instead, I smiled and just walked away thanking God for how far I have come from the days of depression when such nastiness could have sent me back into my insecurity. Those indiscretions are wasted on me now. I don’t hear them. I don’t react to them.
We all need to stop this nastiness of trying to put others down because of our own misery and self hate! Weight, looks, colour are not forms of greetings, unless they are beautiful words. If you’re unhappy with yourself don’t lash out at people who are not responsible for your woes. Go fix your small mindedness! Ask for help if possible. It’s against social etiquette to ask people if they have gained weight in full glare of others. Imagine my shock when someone said to a teenager at a show “you’ve obviously been eating too many burgers and fries, u need to eat more veggies! I was happy when the teen retorted “Aunty, mind your F* business”. It entered well well!
So, if you have nothing good to say, pls count up to 10 first. Envy is hazardous to all our health.

Renowned Nigerian writer and feminist, Chimamanda Adichie has listed the four writers from the Igbo tribe whose work inspired her.

Chimamanda Adichie made it know that if she had not had the influence of such writers, fans of her work won’t have been blessed with books like Half of a yellow sun and Americannah.

“Igboland produced great writers, if Chinua Achebe, Flora Nwapa and Chi Emecheta and Chukwuemeka Nkem had not written the books they did, when and how they did, I would not have had the emotional courage to write my own books and so today I honor them and I stand respectfully in their shadow,” she said.

It would be recalled that Adichie recently paid a visit to Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka, whom she had nice words for.

Sharing a picture of the both of them on IG, she wrote:

“You are, for me, a guiding light:
Your courage. The ease with which you inhabit your skin, speaking your mind, unburdened by apology.

Popular Yoruba actress, Tayo Odueke better known as Sikirat Sindodo, has said in spite of the photographs of houses, cars and other material possessions flaunted by movie stars on social media, there is poor remuneration in Nollywood.

She reiterated this during the weekend in a recent chat with reporters in Lagos.

She said,

“I don’t have any regrets being in the industry. Just like in every other area of life, there are ups and downs. I just thank God that I’m still here because many people I started together with are no longer around. However, that is not to say that there are no challenges.

“The pay in the industry is poor and it is not encouraging at all. It is the passion one has that has kept one in the industry for this long. You only make money when you produce your own movies. Ordinarily, that shouldn’t be so. There is a lot of potential in the industry and we only need the right support to excel.”

Sharing her thoughts on depression, the actress said,

“I believe that there is nobody that doesn’t get depressed but it all depends on how you manage it. There will always be ups and down. You may fall several times but never forget to get back up.

“The case of people in the entertainment industry is peculiar because we make people laugh by what we do but some of us are going through pains of different kinds. Some people now make it worse by trolling celebrities on social media and saying horrible things to them. Stars are humans too and we have emotions.”

Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede Fawole may have just suggested that all is not well in her marriage to rapper and actor, Olakunle Abounce Fawole.

She took to her Instagram page to share a post with a cryptic caption that has fueled rumors that her marriage to Olakunle is currently in troubled waters.

Yvonne wrote,

“A strong woman will automatically stop trying if she feels unwanted. She won’t fix it or beg, she will just walk away.”

A report by Instablog9ja says she has now packed out of the house she once shared with Abounce, with both of them have yanking off their wedding rings.

According to a source, the issue stems from the paternity of their child who was welcomed towards the end of 2018.

One report says actress Bimbo Akintola may somehow be linked to the crisis, although the exact role she played is not known. However, a comment she made some weeks ago and liked by Abounce, shows her calling him her property.

It should be noted that since the arrival of their baby in November 2018, Abounce has not shared any post acknowledging the birth of the child or congratulating Yvonne.

Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage recently got a YouTube Ban for copyright infringement of Danny Young’s song.

Danny Young alleged on his Instagram page that she took a line off his 2009 single, Oju ti Won. But Tiwa Savage refused to comment and went ahead to release the visuals of the song.

In a chat with punchng.com, Danny Young said he had left everything in the hands of his lawyers.

“I wasn’t the one who contacted YouTube. My lawyers handled the process; I didn’t know how they went about it. You know YouTube knows the right thing to do.”

“She felt we couldn’t do anything. I am sure she and her team know that we have a valid point. We didn’t even ask them for money, but we felt intellectual theft should be taken seriously in this part of the world.

This is just the beginning; I plan to see this to the end if she doesn’t reach us for a compromise.”

Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, a voting member of the Oscars, has expressed her displeasure towards the 2019 Oscars award.

The Nigerian screen star said she’s is not so happy that no African movie made it to the 2019 Oscars nomination list.

Omotola, who was enlisted into the voting membership of the Oscar Awards in 2018, made the disclosure in an Instagram post where she conveyed her thoughts on the nominated movies.

Although she expressed her happiness on the fact that a great deal of the movies she voted were picked, the actor was more concerned that no African movie made it to the list.

She said:

“The Nominations are Out! So glad Most of the Movies I nominated made it. Next , Voting to determine the Winners!… Wasn’t So Exited No African Movie made it ! Someday soon we will Be doing this for Africans!…”

Jalade-Ekeinde isn’t the only Nigerian who was invited to join the Oscar awards voters in 2018. Femi Odugbemi, a filmmaker, was also invited.

Movies like ‘The Favourite’ and ‘Roma’ were the most nominated movies, receiving 10 each, while ‘Black Panther’ earned seven nominations.
