Stella Damasus 8 stargist

Ghanaian filmmaker, Leila Djansi made some comments many have regarded as derogatory about the Nigerian movie industry in a recent interview.

She was quoted as comparing Nollywood to the late German dictator, Adolf Hitler. She said:

“I don’t think those people, this new crop of film industry people be put under the umbrella of Nollywood, they should be called independent film because a name carries a lot. If you start tagging it Nollywood, every negative connotation that comes with Nollywood…it’s like calling your son Hitler.”

And now, her Nigerian counterpart, Stella Damasus has released a video via Youtube, telling the Ghanaian to ‘get her facts right’ before making such comments.

Lolo3

Wazobia FM OAP, Lolo in a recent chat with Punch Spice addressed her recent social media clash with colleague Princess and also opened up on her ongoing divorce, keeping her private life out of the media and more.

Excerpts below:

On keeping her private life away from prying fans:

I am a proud mother of four children and I have the right to keep them away from prying fans. If you know me very well, you would know that they are my all and an integral part of my life. Occasionally, I post their pictures on social media, but that’s not what’s key for me.

On her marriage:

My husband is a very private man and I wouldn’t want to put him out there. It’s not something he appreciates or cares about. We’re presently going through a divorce, but we have mutual respect for each other. We will do all we can to protect and nurture our lovely kids. We are also actively involved in the lives of our children.

On her spat with Princess:

Sometimes, women have issues. At an event which held this month, she caused me to feel awkward. I felt slighted because her action was unnecessary. I had to give vent to my anger because I am human. Some of our colleagues waded into the matter and I believe that our differences will be sorted out. We’re human beings and we are bound to hurt each other at some point. But, we have to let it go and keep the ball rolling.

Ogogo

Veteran Yoruba actor, Taiwo Hassan popularly known as Ogogo has revealed that his fame is natural because he doesn’t believe in ritual. He further narrated that if it was to be ritual, his fame would have stonewashed especially when he was stormed by a strange illness and left the industry for years.

The Ilaro, Ogun State-born Auto Mechanic turned actor said,

“Some will get to stardom and within a year people will not remember them again. God loves us so much; it is now left to us to do the will of God. We should always try our best in any situation we found ourselves. My fame is natural, if it was to be sacramental, i am sure it must have faded out by now.

I came to stardom in 1991, in 1992 I could no longer take public bus again and I was still working under water corporation as at that time, a cab will come and pick me at home in the morning and return me at night. So if God can still do it from then till now, common I am blessed with love”.
