Award-winning singer and actress, Selena Gomez is Billboard’s 2017 Woman of the Year. The announcement was made in a statement on Tuesday by the president of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group, John Amato.

“Not only is Selena soaring on the charts, but she continuously inspires young women everywhere to be authentic, give back and to not be afraid to use their voice.”

“She is never afraid to speak her mind and has used her platform to advocate for the needs of others. We are thrilled to be able to honor her as our Woman of the Year,” the statement said.

The singer will be honored with the award at the Women in Music dinner at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood on Nov. 30. The event will be held in conjunction with the release of Billboard’s Women in Music issue and also honor the most powerful female executives in the industry.

Over the years the American singer dominated the charts with Top 40 hits including “Bad Liar,” “Fetish” (featuring Gucci Mane), and “It Ain’t Me,” a collaboration with Kygo that became one of 2017’s biggest international hit songs with over half a billion streams since its release.

Selena Gomez will join an all-star cast of the previous Woman of the Year honorees including Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Pink, Katy Perry, Fergie, Beyoncé and last year’s winner, Madonna.

While Actor, Kenneth Okolie and his fiance, Jessica prepare for their white wedding which is slated to hold in December, the duo have released their adorable pre-wedding photos for viewing pleasure.

The Anambra state born model and actor who some months back engaged his US Based girlfriend won the Mr Nigeria pageant in 2010.

Kenneth and Jessica have been dating for a while, and even spent Christmas of 2016 together.

The white wedding will hold on December 16th, 2017, a sequel to the traditional wedding they had earlier this year on April 15th.

Last night in Lagos, a candle night in honour of late Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Obi Madubogwu held at the National Stadium, Surulere.

Obi Madubogwu, who died at the age of 47 on the 28th of August after battling diabetes for several years, will be buried Friday, November 10, 2017 at his hometown in Ogidi, Anambra State.

He is survived by his wife, children, and family members.

May his soul rest in peace .

Colleagues spotted at the candle night event include Charles Inojie, Ebele Okaro, Desmond Elliot, Mercy Macjoe, Ogbonna Mary, Emeka Amugo and more.

Falz slams yahoo boys in new song confirm It’s obvious that Falz is not a fan of Yahoo Boys, he has made it known several times, but now he raises the bar by dedicating a full song to his preaching against Internet fraudsters.

On the single ‘Confirm’, one of the tracks off his recent surprise album, 27, Falz didn’t hold back his displeasure towards Internet fraudsters, calling them thieves.

On the first verse, Falz raps;

“Internet gangster, this the first chapter/ This brother just hammer, he collect from one maga/ Him steal person money, na hin he wan dey form swagga/ Everyday for the thief, one day for karma/ So you happy when you log into your online haven, and when you getting richer off another mans savings/ Stop explaining, that be lazy, No excuse you fit give them, No be only una wey be victim of the system/ No, you no be hustler, that one no be work sir

He continues;

“You wan carry duffel duffel, instead make you hustle double, hoping you will realize you’re not in a real life, you’re not sharper than the nigga rocking a pins stripe/ Person talk small, you left threats in the comment section, you never got attention, then you try to flood the mention/ You don forget say this person get some got protection, Get your ass up before you end up for detention.”

Recall that, a few months earlier, Falz broke the internet after he called out artistes who glorify internet fraudsters on an interview with HipTV.

“You are a role model to the younger ones and you are hailing fraudsters, you are making the younger ones feel it is good to do it. Stop it! It is destroying our future,” he said on the interview.
Falz noted that the effects of such songs were destructive to the younger generation, stressing that artistes should rather engage in singing meaningful songs.

Freeze has reacted to Ubi Franklin’s statement on Linda Ikeji TV’s The Report Card show that his opinion on tithing was rubbish.

Ubi Franklin, who was a guest on the show, shared his opinion on Tithing and dismissed Freeze’s criticism against enriching pastors through it.

According to him;

“I pay my tithe. I’m not even interested in that rubbish Freeze is saying. I believe part of my success and how I’m growing is because how I’m able to not hold on to what I’m supposed to give to God.”

Freeze responded, calling out Ubi for being disrespectful to him over his opinion.

You said tithing was in the Bible and you obey it. Please what part of the Bible if I may ask? Is it Deuteronomy 14:22-26 that says we should eat our tithe in the place the LORD has chosen? Or is it Malachi 3:8-10 that was debunked by this your same pastor when he said, from a post where his last sermon was quoted on Linda Ikeji’s blog, that Christians are not under any curse for not paying tithe?

I’m not sure Pastor Paul would have chosen you to be the mouthpiece of his ‘grace’ doctrine, especially with your state of benightedness on this particular issue.

Following the footsteps of many of your pastors, you haven’t addressed my ‘rubbish’ with the Bible. Instead, you have used your personal ‘sentiment’ and ’emotions’ to debate my claims.

In my own opinion, you and pastor Paul should be looking for bible verses that show that our first ‘pastors’, the 12 disciples, collected tithe and pointing out bible verses that show where believers that weren’t Jewish, paid tithe.

Talk show host Wendy Williams, dressed as Lady Liberty, fainted during her show while introducing the Halloween costume contest she runs every year.

“We do it every year,” she said. “It’s always a lot of fun.”

But then, looking obviously distressed, she began to slur her words. “Let’s get started. Our first guest -” she said before stumbling and fainting.

A crew member quickly ran onstage to help.

Williams, not one to give up so easily, returned after a long break.

“That was not a stunt,” she said, “I overheated and did pass out, but I’m a champ and I’m back,” before announcing the winners of the costume contest.
