Ghana’s 2018 Golden Movie Awards held last night at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra, Ghana where several movie stars from across Africa gathered at the awards ceremony.

The event was held to recognize the amazing works of actors, producers, directors, scriptwriters and more over the past year.

Joselyn Dumas was the host of the night alongside comedian AY as actors such as Lydia Forson, Jackie Appiah, Tana Adelana, Ken Erics, Lilian Afegbai and more were spotted at the event.

Since Nigerian singer, Eddy Montana, separated from his ex-wife, Kenny Saint Brown, years ago, he has remained single. The break-up was widely reported as it attracted a lot of attention from the public.

In an interview with the Punch’s Sunday Scoop, Eddy admitted that having a failed marriage is the lowest point of his life.

He stated, “I don’t have any low point apart from my failed marriage. Things were going fine for me until I started having problems with my marriage. It was possible I could have saved it if I had put in more effort but I am also human. Right now, I have grown and I know we all make mistakes as humans. I made my mistakes and she (Kenny Saint Best) must have made hers too. Do you think anyone is perfect?”

Eddy, however, stated that despite the apparent differences between him and KSB, they are still good friends. Explaining why he reduced the pace at which he was doing music, he revealed that his marital troubles affected his desire to do music for a long time.

He said, “For years, I did not put out songs. You would remember that my marriage was in trouble and I broke down emotionally. My doctor didn’t want me to get back to work because of my state of health and mind.

“I lost my marriage and my kids were not with me as well. I had to take a break for my health and my children because different stories were written about me and I didn’t want my kids to grow up with that tension. Even though my music suffered, it was very important for me to take a break at that time.”

Daughter of former minister Dora Akunyili, Chidiogo and her Canadian hubby, Andrew David Parr, did their white and traditional wedding today, Saturday 2nd June 2018 at her Hometown in Nneogidi village, Agulu in Anaocha LGA, Anambra State.

The pair have already wedded legally but are making things final with her traditional and white wedding according to her tradition.

The wedding was a private affair and had only close family and friends.

Nollywood actress/producer, Toyin Abraham has come out to openly slam actress mercy Aigbe for the part she played in ruining her marriage.

Toyin took to the comment section of Mercy to call her out saying that she should she reveal what she did to end her marriage, calling her ‘alabosi‘ which means pretender.

There is still no report whether this is true or not as both actresses have not reacted further to this.

Veteran actor and former President of the Association of Movie Producers in Nigeria, Paul Obazele, is seriously shaking a table as he says Homosexual producers have taken over Nollywood.

In an interview with the Punch’s Saturday Beats he made the allegation known.

He said, ”I would not lie, we have gay producers and lesbians in the Nigerian entertainment industry and they are the people in control. Why are we hiding it? When I was president of the Association of Movie Producers, I was against them.

“Why are we pretending that it does not happen? The same way it happens in Nollywood is the same way it happens in the medical field and other fields. The truth be told , it happens across the board. If you mention the names of some producers, I would gladly tell you if they are gay or not ; they cannot do anything to me. If they bring a war to me, I would take it to their doorsteps. I do not give into gossips but I have got to a place in my life when some unsolicited piece of information come to me. They must tell me.

“I am an elder in this industry and that is why I said if you mention names, I would tell you if the person is gay or not. It does not elude us; it happens within our rank and file. But like I always say, sex is not the ultimate step to attaining success, it is hard work.” he said
