Recall that he was brought to the house just two weeks ago alongside Venita, Enkay, Elozonam and Cindy.

When asked who he feels may win the prize money, he said it was between Tacha, Omashola and Mike.

Saturday, August 17th  in the Big Brother 2019 House started on a high note and here are some of the highlights from the day.

The Dano Milk Challenge

The 18 housemates were given three tasks for the Dano Milk Challenge. After they were divided into 6 groups, they were tasked with creating a jingle. The six teams were Team Cool Cow (Tacha, Elozonam and Ike) Team Strawberry (Khafi, Omashola, and Frodd), Team UHT (Cindy, Enkay and Sir Dee) Team Slim (Gedoni, Mike and Jackye) Team Full Cream (Diane, Joe and Mercy) and Team Choco (Seyi, Esther and Venita).

The housemates were made to score each other points on their performances which many thought didn’t do the teams justice.

At the end of the first task, the results were Team Cool Cow with 15 points, Team Strawberry 14 points, Team UHT, 19 points, Team Slim, 13 points, Team FullCream, 8 points and Team Choco, 20 points making Team Choco the winner.

A good number of viewers however felt Team Strawberry should have won as they did better.

The second challenge which was the Dano Milk trivia, the housemates were asked questions about the Dano brand and current affairs.

Team Full cream had 9 points which was the highest but wasn’t enough for them to make the final round.

Team Cool Cow, UHT and Choco made the last round.

In the final round, they were asked, they were asked to do a puzzle where the team finishing in the shortest possible time wins.

Team Choco finished in seven minutes which made them the overall winner of the Dano Milk Challenge. As winners, they get N250,000 each with a year supply of Dano products.

Joe celebrates birthday, Tacha refuses to celebrate him

Joe turned a year older on Saturday and as the tradition, he got a cake and drinks to celebrate with his fellow housemates.

Cindy was blasted online for eating from the cake before the celebrant.

The housemates also took turns in celebrating him with Venita taking the lead. Tacha, however, declined to congratulate him owing to the quarrel which earned the both of them strikes.

Joe is the fifth housemate to celebrate his birthday in the BBNaija PepperDem house alongside Mike, SirDee, Thelma and Tuoyo.

 

Frodd and Esther get into mild fight over sleeping position, Biggie calls him to order

After the party, Frodd tried to get cozy Esther while on the same bed as usual but this time, he took it too far. In a video seen online, a visibly Esther as she dragged the duvet of a slightly naked Frodd and pushed him off her bed.

Not long after, Biggie called Frodd to the diary room, we don’t know what transpired but Frodd went to his bed after which probably meant he was admonished by Big Brother.

Nigerian artistes, Tiwa Savage, Davido, Burna Boy, Simi, Wizkid, Kizz Daniel, Teni, Yemi Alade, Niniola have been nominated for 2019 All African Music Awards (AFRIMA).

This was made known during a press conference held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island Lagos by Aderele Niyi, AFRIMA’s Associate Producer.

Niyi said that the nominees that cut across Western, Eastern, Central Southern and Northern Africa were carefully picked after rigorous screening by a group of professional jury.

According to her, the world music festival will hold between Nov. 21 to Nov. 23 2019 in a country that will be announced next month.

The nominees for the male category are: Burna boy with his song “Ye”, Davido’s “Wonder Woman”, Kizz Daniel’s “Madu”, Wizkid’s “Fever”.

The nominees for the female category from Nigeria and their works are Simi’s “I Dun Care”; Tiwa Savage’s “One”; Teni’s “Case”; Yemi Alade’s “Oh My Gosh”; Niniola’s Bana.

Others are: Aya Nakamura from Mali; Jossey from Cote d’Ivoire; Kanuer Adams from Liberia; Manamba Kante from Guinea and Mzuee from Ghana.

The best male artistes nominated from Central Africa are: C4 Pedro from Angola; Fally Ipupa from Congo; Locko from Cameroon; and Magasco also from Cameroon.

Others are; Maitre Gims from Congo; Rui Orlando from Angola; Niska from Congo Brazzaville; Salatiel from Cameroon and Ya Levis from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

The best nominated female artistes from central Africa are: Anna Joyce from Angola; Blanche Baily from Cameroon; and Bruna Tatiana from Angola.

Others are; Charlotte Dipand also from Cameroon; Daphine from Cameroon; Duda from Angola; Shan’l from Gabon and Titica from Angola.

Also, the best male artistes from north Africa are: Ahmed Soultan from Morocco; Aminux from Morocco; Amr Diab from Egypt; DJ Moh Green from Algeria; and Mostafa Hagag Kelso from Egypt.

Others are: Soolking from Algeria; Tamer Hosny from Egypt and Yann Sine from Morocco.

In the best female categories: Cairokee from Egypt; Kenza Morsfi from Algeria; Nada Azhari from Morocco; Psychoqueen also from Morocco; Salma Rachid also from Morocco; Sherine from Egypt and Souhila Ben Lach from Algeria.

For the best male artistes from southern Africa are: AKA, Nasty C, Prince Kaybee, Casper Nyovest, Black Coffee x David Guette, Sjava from South Africa and Jah Prayzah and Winky D from Zimbabwe.

Also, nominees for the best female artistes from southern Africa are: Ammara Brown, and Tamy Moyo from Zimbabwe; Zonke, Kelly Khumalo, Nadia Nakai, and Sho Madjozi from South Africa; Trina South from Zambia and Chikune from Namibia.

Those nominated for best male artistes from east Africa are: Black Boy from Madagascar; Diamond Platinumz from Tanzania; Harmonize also from Tanzania; and Khaligraph Jones from Kenya.

Others are: Shyn from Madagascar; WCB Wasafi, Rayvanny- and  Mbosso from Tanzania and Nyashinski from Kenya.

The music industry is still mourning the shocking death of Ivorian DJ and singer, DJ Arafat on August 13.

His motorcycle was said to have collided with a car in  Abidjan on Sunday, August 11, 2019 leading to his death the next day.

Davido in reaction to the news posted an old picture of himself and Arafat while professing his love for the late artist with the caption, “RIP Yorobo. I love you”.

Considered one of the most popular African artists in Francophone countries around the world, here are a few things to know about him.

1. DJ Arafat real name Ange Didier Huon was born on January 26th, 1986 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire to a singer mum, Tina Glamour and a musician/engineer dad, Houon Pierre.

2. He started his music career as a DJ in Yopougon, a night-life district in Abidjan.

3. He left for France to improve his career.

4. He is believed to have coined the genre coupé-décalé, dance music formed of choppy rhythms and hip-hop style vocals which became popular around 2009.

5. Arafat later became popular in Europe and the United States when some of the sports personalities popularized the dance steps of the coupé-décalé genre. BBC also described him as the “king” of Coupé-Décalé, which means “cut and run”.

6. Arafat released a total of 11 albums in his career, with his first released in 2000.”Dosabado”, “Kpangor”, “Zoropoto”, “Enfant Beni” and “Moto, Moto” were some of his major hits.

7. He was a lover of motorcycles and also featured them in his recent hit ‘Moto Moto’ released in May. 

8. He is considered the most popular artist in Ivory Coast, with more than 2.3million subscribers to his Facebook page.

9. Arafat was named the best artist of the year at the Coupé-Decalé Awards in 2016 and 2017. He also won two WatsUp TV Africa Music Video Awards in 2016.

10. DJ Arafat though not married as at the time of his death,  had two children with his girlfriend.

Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim has responded to her ex-boyfriend Iceberg Slim’s apology.

Recall that Iceberg had apologized to the curvy actress for cheating on her during their relationship.

He wrote:

 “Dear Juliet Ibrahim, thank you for everything. You loved me unconditonally even at my lowest points, and only wanted honesty and love in return. Unfortunately i’ve failed you along with everyone that saw our relationship and wished us well.

“Despite the pain and heartache i have caused you, somehow you still found a way to rise and smile again. I lied, i cheated, i took your love for granted… and in return i brought ridicule and shame to you. From the bottom of my heart, i apologize. “Why now?” You may ask, sometimes in life, you have to reveal in order to heal.

“As i’ve revealed the true reasons for our break-up, healing comes next. As we continue on our separate paths, i pray for God’s continued guidance.”

 

But during an interview with Accra FM, the actress admitted she forgave the Nigerian singer a longtime ago, but the apology came quite late.

She, however, made it clear that she is not getting back with him, but hopes the apology helps in the healing process he talked about.

“I feel like it’s coming too late but I appreciate the fact that he’s apologizing and clearing the air.

“I remember when it started, everybody was attacking me.

“I have no idea why people always choose to attack the woman when a breakup or something happens.

“But that was life. I went through it and I was strong enough to ignore all the negative comments,” she said.

The recently concluded AFCON 2019 had a total of 24 African teams vying for the ultimate football glory in the African continent.

Even though Nigeria couldn’t make it past the semi-final stage and were beaten by the ultimate champions Algeria 2-1 in the last-four, there were quite a few names in the Nigerian squad that stood out both on and off the field.

The premiere for ‘The Bling Lagosians’ movie was held on Sunday, 16th June 2019 at Filmhouse Cinemas, IMAX Theatre, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. There are usually backlashes celebrities experience from their peers, followers and even loyal fans. This backlash comes with some form of hatred or annoyance, and it’s every celebrity’s duty to respond to it in the best way that suits them. This was what Uche Ogbodo faced when she shared nude photos on her birthday.

Reacting to the backlash, Uche Ogbodo said:

“Well, as a public figure, one would usually expect such backlash. Not everyone will sing your praises at all times. Some will definitely find faults with the things you do. So it was expected,”

While addressing whether she had plastic surgery or not, Uche Ogbodo said:

“My body is 100 percent natural. I haven’t altered my body by having surgery yet. I only dedicate my time to keeping fit and watching my diet. I have never considered plastic surgery. My body is perfect and I love it. I keep in shape so no need for plastic surgery. Keeping fit is easy because it is something that can be done anywhere and anytime. It is really easy to combine it with my job. It doesn’t distract me at all. It helps me to also alleviate stress from my life. I love keeping fit.”
