Adesua Tolulope Etomi is a Nollywood actress who made her big screen acting debut in April 14, 2014 when Knocking On Heaven’s Door was released in Nigerian cinemas.

Early Life

Adesua Etomi was born on February 22nd in Owerri, South Eastern Nigeria to a Soldier father and Civil Engineer mother. She is a native of Esan in Edo State, South-South Nigeria and her mother is Yoruba. The youngest of three children, she attended Corona School Victoria Island for her primary education. She moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 13 where she decided to study acting professionally. Adesua studied Physical theatre, Musical theatre and Performing Arts at the City College, Coventry, United Kingdom where she obtained a triple distinction. She further went on to study Drama and Performance at the University of Wolverhampton where she was one of the best students, graduating in 2009 with a 1st class honours which earned her ‘The Foursight Theatre Award’. This award was presented to her by the university for best performance in a devised piece of theatre in the whole drama department and got featured in newspaper as one of the students who the city and university were proud of.

Career

Adesua quickly learned to express herself through performance. Her first encounter with acting was at the age of 7, when she joined the drama club at her primary school. She returned to Nigeria in 2012 and performed in several stage plays like: Secret Lives Of Baba Segi’s Wives, Saro, Shattered, The Grimm Tales, Anatomy Of A Woman, Crystal Slipper, The Crucible, Fractal, Not my cup of Tea, to mention but a few. She made her first film debut in 2014 with Royal Arts Academy Production. Adesua Etomi has also starred in MTV’s HIV/AIDS Edutainment show Shuga as Sheila and stars as undercover police officer; Amaka Obiora in Yemisi Wada’s police procedural drama series; LasGidi Cops, which debuted in June 2016 on Television.
