Music artist, Falz just made a parody of American rapper Childish Gambino’s This is America, calling his This is Nigeria and it is trending right now.
Falz who used the song and video remake to highlight the evident issues in Nigeria including corrupt politicians, hustling youths, SARS officials harassing people, the herdsmen killings and the kidnapping of the Chibok and Dapchi girls.
Since he released this video Nigerian have reacted to this in as usual a mixed manner, some praising him for calling out the leaders and other angry that he was not creative enough to portray the issues in Nigeria.
He did say it was just a witty recreation, just something to raise awareness.

Watch the video below.
These are what people are saying about it.
Falz is such a conscious rapper but in a country where even when you state things literally, many miss it, it is so hard for many to see through the jest and the wit, to see the consciousness within the character. Up there even on the layers of #ThisIsNigeria without digging in.

I think it’s clear why Falz Used the Hijab Girls In the #ThisIsNigeria Video
In our subconscious, we engage in our daily activities we are happy amidst the Suffering and Pain(Dapchi Girls,Chibok Girls) , The Shaku Shaku can still surface but then we still Have Problems Don’t We?— Lateef Habib O. (@SireHabbiibb) May 26, 2018

Falz video was meant to make people aware and spark the fire of a change mentality.. Also the courage to speak up… People saying the video was “pointless” are part of the problems we have in Nigeria.— Omoniyi Israel (@omoissy) May 26, 2018
Falz went from finessing Yoruba accent to standing against NG artistes praising Fraudsters & then addressing several NG issues in #ThisIsNigeria… A creative gem & a multi talented nigga. I stan

I’m pleased that we still have artists like @falzthebahdguy and @2faceofficial_ talking about governance issues. Since the death of Fela, not many musicians have used their voices for the public cause. @falzthebahdguy’s #ThisIsNigeria is brilliant!

#ThisIsNigeria so I have seen a number of comments that women that wear Hijab cannot be dancing while wearing one and I would like to ask why??
Eventhough In the video they represent the abducted Chibok and Dapchi girls, I would like to know why a woman in hijab can’t dance?

Fals touched on corruption in government, corruption in churches, looters contesting election, lack of electricity, Yahoo Yahoo and Noble Igwe, Fulani heardmen killing, general insecurity, SARS brutality. Fantastic stuff. #ThisIsNigeria

I liked that scene in #ThisIsNigeria where SARS arrested people and the kid whose Dad was rich came to bail him out while the others were left behind

Falz touched every angles in #ThisIsNigeria . This is the type of lyrical contents we need, not songs encouraging drugs, immoral and illicit behavior. I’m really impressed.

On Falz and the girls in hijab:
He didn’t spray them with an AK47
He didn’t blast them with an IED
He didn’t kidnap or rape them
He didn’t “mistakenly” bomb them twice with a jet in their IDP camp.He only taught them shaku shaku
And yet Falz is the bad guy.#ThisIsNigeria— Free Leah Sharibu (@tarugu) May 26, 2018
This is Nigeria by @falzthebahdguy, realest Nigerian song since Mr President by African China. #ThisIsNigeria

The facts and reality that Falz touched on in that song hit the bone marrow and underlying tissue. The truth will set you free but first it will piss you off. #ThisIsNigeria

Falz further proved that music can be used for more than making people dance. He addressed corruption, police brutality, fraud, insecurity (Fulani Herdsmen), sexual abuse, extra judicial killings, exploitation of church members on #ThisIsNigeria. This is a praiseworthy concept.

Falz showed why in as much as he’s a comedian/entertainer/rapper/multitalented he is still one of the few rappers in Nigeria, if not the only one if you really think about it, who is spitting the truth and bridging the facts with his lyrics.
Super intelligent. #ThisIsNigeria
