Veteran Nollywood actor/director, Fred Amata, has emerged the winner of the President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, DGN elections.
Fred was declared President-Elect of the guild, after beating his close rival, Lancelot Imasuen with 5 votes to emerge the winner of the election.
He got 48 votes, while Lancelot got 43 votes. Dickson Ireogbu and Kingsley Omefe had 3 votes and 7 votes respectively .
Fred takes over from Andy Amenechi who resigned as the president of the guild yesterday. Before the election, Amata who had contested three times for the position, assured his colleagues that he has what it takes to be the president and will get the guild a befitting secretariat, a functioning constitution and website in his first three months in office.
