The Yoruba movie industry has been thrown into another state of mourning as they announced the untimely death of Shakirudeen Olakunle Akindele, a fast rising actor.
According to reports, the 34-year old actor died in the early hours of Wednesday, 17th of February 2016 from a strange attack and was buried the following day on the 18th of February, according to moslem rites.
Olakunle Akindele who was survived by aged parents, siblings and a wife and son based in UK played the role of jamo, a prominent character in Civilian Barracks, a comedy series by mega creations, and the role of Olumegbon, Olofin’s first son in the multi million naira epic drama on history of Lagos, Eko The Blessing of Olofin
Sources say the late actor had just gotten his U.K visa which he had been seeking for over four years and was finalizing plans to move over to England and join his wife and 2-year old son who relocated two years ago.
His death was said to have occurred in a mysterious way through an attack as he was hale and hearty and was awaiting a friend for an outing the morning he died.
