President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed regret over the loss of lives in Anambra state following gas explosion at an industrial plant.
NTA reports that in a statement signed and issued by Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant on media and publicity, President Buhari said he was shocked by the huge loss of lives on Christmas Eve and condoled with the families of the victims and the people of Anambra state.
“My heart and prayers go out to these grieving families at this difficult and painful moment.”
The president also sent a condolence message to Godwin Emefiele, the governor of central bank and Alhaji Barkindo Mustapha, the Lamido of Adamawa who both lost their mothers.

The president described a mother as “an invaluable component of family life, and the pillar and comforter of the children.”
He prayed to Allah to grants the families of the deceased the strength to bear their losses.
In a related development, there was an inferno at a filling station along Ondo-Akure expressway in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
