Members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) on Thursday, December 24, have held peaceful procession in Sokoto and Kastina states.
The demonstrators carried banners and posters with Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky’s photos calling for his release.
Sheikh Zakzaky has been taken into custody after his Shi’ites members blocked the convoy of the chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai, in Zaria.
The incident reportedly led to deaths of scores of members, including IMN second-in-command, Muhammad Turi.

Members of IMN also mourned the killings of hundreds of their colleagues and marked the birthday of Prophet Muhammad.
In an interview with ABNA, El-Zakzaky’s son, Muhammed, said that the Nigerian army killed three of his brothers during last week’s army attack on their residence in Zaria.
